About the role
Want to influence beauty brands with consumer understanding? An extremely exciting opportunity has arisen to join the No7 Beauty Company as a Consumer Insight Manager on a temporary basis, based in Nottingham on-site (London on-site considered). In this role you’ll work with our global beauty brands and innovators in the skincare, cosmetics and bath & body categories and supporting our progressive insights agenda.
- Using a customer/consumer first mindset, work with the Consumer Insight team to ensure consumer insight is at the heart of brand decision making, strategy and activation
- Capture, synthesise and communicate the reality of consumers behaviour, beliefs, attitudes and motivations; applying these insights to help develop our brands and world-class innovation
- As part of the Consumer Insight Team work on the development & delivery of brand learning plans and deliver insights projects in line with the brand’s objectives
- Utilising the suite of traditional and innovative insight & analytics software / tools available, working with rostered insights agencies and using new platforms & partners where gaps exist
- Partner with the brand marketing teams, play a key role in putting the voice of the consumer, their beauty needs and cultural context into campaigns development
- Working with product development teams, providing insights to feed the innovation & NPD pipeline; from foundational insights on trends, unmet needs & benefits through to research that validates the potential NPD concepts & the most compelling product claims
What you’ll need to have
- Synthesis & judgement – an aptitude for selecting, curating and synthesising different sources of data and ability to translate this into actionable insights & recommendations
- Analysis & interpretation – numerical acumen and ability to analyse & interpret complex data and to visual data / insight in a compelling and engaging way
- Communication & Storytelling - strong written & verbal communication, able to champion the voice of the customer, deliver insights backed by evidence, communicating & embedding insight
- Relationship building – an ability to build & maintain trusted insight partnering relationships with stakeholders, represent insight and ensure it is at the heart of decision making
- A forward-thinking mindset – an interest in using and seeking new insight techniques, tools & packages that make insights more impactful and efficient
- Insight & Research management – an understanding of working with 3rd party organisations/research agencies from briefing to delivery of insights
- A consumer/customer mindset - able to apply insights and research learning to brands/business/retail activities: consumer understanding, consumer & brand strategy, communication & campaign development, end to end innovation & NPD, development of beauty tech and digital delivery etc
- Collaborative team player and appetite to learn - willingness to develop and be proactive about your own development, contribute confidently to cross team activities
It would be great if you also have
- Experience of using in-house research tools & platforms for qualitative and quantitative research – or a high willingness to learn
- Experience of data analysis and visualisation tools ‘Q’, Power BI, SQL
- Experience of creative packages, video editing
- Beauty category or retail experience and/or knowledge
- Commercial understanding
- An understanding of brands and brand development principles
- An understanding of both tradition and digital marketing
