No7 INTRODUCES NEW MENOPAUSE SKINCARE COLLECTION
The UK’s number one skincare brand[1] launches a range of four products following five years of scientific research and in collaboration with more than 7,000 menopausal women
No7, the UK’s number one skincare brand1, today announces the launch of NEW No7 Menopause Skincare, a collection of four products expertly designed to tackle some of the most common menopausal skincare concerns. The No7 Menopause Skincare line comprises an Instant Radiance Serum, Protect & Hydrate Day Cream, Nourishing Overnight Cream, and an Instant Cooling Mist.
No7 Menopause Skincare has been developed by No7 scientists using unique insights from its 20-year partnership with the University of Manchester into how and why the skin changes as we age, and almost five years of research and development into how the skin changes during perimenopause and menopause. No7 has recently published a new scientific paper[2] that uncovers unique insights on how declining oestrogen levels impact the skin barrier during the menopause, explaining why skin health concerns such as dryness, sensitivity and dullness are reported by women during this time.
The range has also been created in collaboration with a cohort of more than 7000 menopausal women. The women were closely involved in every stage of development of the range to ensure it addresses some of the most prevalent skincare concerns experienced during perimenopause and menopause. 94% of women said they would recommend the range, and 80% said it is better suited to their menopausal skin than their usual skincare range.[3]
The range is designed to help skin behave as if oestrogen was still present and is proven to target visual effects of collagen and lipid depletion in the skin, supporting skin needs experienced in perimenopause and menopause. It contains ingredients that target epidermal and skin barrier resilience, in addition to ageing and dryness concerns. The key menopause specific ingredients found within the range are niacinamide and ceramides, soy isoflavones and Japanese lily turf.
Commenting on the new range, Dr Mike Bell, No7 Head of Science Research, says “Our scientific research shows the important role that oestrogen plays in maintaining skin health. The new No7 Menopause Skincare range has been developed to support skin barrier resilience and tackle some of the most common concerns women report. From consulting more than 7000 menopausal women in our cohort, we know that the menopause is associated with several undesirable skin changes, with many women reporting increased dryness, dullness and sensitivity. The range delivers against these concerns and more, and we are thrilled by the results.”
The need for menopausal skin education
No7 research[4] has found that many women do not understand how the skin changes during perimenopause and menopause highlighting the need for better information and education:
- 54% of women did not expect their skin to change during the menopause
- 56% of women did not recognise the symptoms as part of menopause
- 72% were not happy with the current appearance of their skin
- 41% were not satisfied with the performance of their current skincare routine
To help address this, No7 created a bespoke menopause training module for all 1,600 Beauty Advisors as part of its award winning CIBTAC-endorsed skincare training programme, Skin School. The module examines how skin changes during the menopause, so Beauty Advisors can confidently advise women on products and ingredients that will best suit changing skin needs.
Breaking down taboos
No7 believes it is important to continue striving to break down taboos and open up a wider conversation about menopause in society. It has chosen to proudly put ‘Menopause’ on its packaging, so people can clearly see and understand the benefits the range delivers. No7 research indicated that 75% of women in the UK said they wanted products clearly referencing menopause in the product name or on pack.[5]
No7 Menopause Skincare range

No7 Menopause Instant Radiance Serum (30ml) £32.95
The serum, with an advanced blend of ingredients, tackles the appearance of key menopausal skin concerns as well as anti-ageing concerns. It has a cooling applicator with a dome head designed to massage and cool the skin.
Menopause targeted actives include:
- Lipid Restoration Technology: Lipids & Ceramides: Ceramides and niacinamide help restore the natural lipid component of the skin's epidermis, which our research has shown to be depleted during the menopause. The complex helps reinforce the skin’s natural moisture barrier and nourish the skin (niacinamide is a multi-tasker that is known to help rebalance the skin and even out the skin tone too).
- Soy isoflavones: A phytoestrogen to help target the effects of declining collagen and oestrogen in the skin.
- Japanese lily turf: To help support the skin’s natural moisture barrier by increasing skin’s natural moisturising factors.
Supporting ingredients:
- Collagen-peptide technology: Matrixyl 3000+ ™, No7’s powerful peptide blend to target deep lines and wrinkles
- Hyaluronic acid and bisabolol: To hydrate and soothe the skin
- Multi-vitamin/antioxidant complex: Green tea, vitamins E, C and B5
