On 12 March Hollywood’s elite took to the champagne-coloured carpet to attend the 95th Academy Awards. Amongst those in attendance was American Filmmaker Ava DuVernay who was sporting a makeup look by Celebrity Makeup Artist and No7 Cosmetics Global Brand Ambassador, Adam Burrell.
Adam created a classic, smokey eye with a nude lip using the newly transformed No7 Cosmetics collection, a celebrity make-up artist favorite.
He used new products from the line including No7 Flawless Finish Loose Powder, No7 Lash Extender Fiber Mascara, No7 HydraLuminous Lip Balm and more.
Adam shares a breakdown of his process for creating the look: "I started by applying a light layer of No7 Restore and Renew Serum Foundation in Amber and Dune all over Ava’s face, then No7 HydraLuminous Concealer in shade #8.5 under the eyes. I also applied the concealer to the bridge of the nose, center of forehead and chin, to give a flawless, brightening look to the face, this looks great in pictures. I set the foundation using No7 Flawless Finish Loose Powder in Medium, using the Light powder to set the T-zone and under the eyes.
Next, I lightly filled in the brows using a combination of the No7 Beautiful Eyebrow Pencils in Black and Brown. I used Brown all through the brow, then applied the Black in light feathery strokes to mimic the natural brow hairs. These pencils have a spoolie on the end so you can brush the brows into place as you go, seeing exactly where needs to be filled in.
For Ava’s eye we wanted to keep it clean and modern, and all about a feline wing, and No7 Stay Perfect Liquid Eyeliner was the star of this look. I did a thin line along the top lash line, flicking it up at the end to create a wing. I used No7 Stay Perfect Amazing Eyes along the lower lashline and waterline, smoking it out with a small fluffy brush. To finish the eye I applied a set of wispy set of false eyelashes and lots of No7 Lash Extender Fiber Mascara.
To add more dimension to the face I used the No7 Stay Perfect Foundation Stick in Walnut, as both a contour and bronzer. I used a large fluffy brush to take some product from the stick and buffed it into the hollows of the cheeks, and around the perimeter of the face and hairline, to really warm up the look. I set that using No7 Lift & Luminate Triple Action Pressed Powder in Deep. For blush I used No7 Matte Powder Blusher in Honey, with a pop of Pomegranate.
For Ava’s perfect nude lip I used No7 HydraLuminous Lip Balm in Nude, with No7 Age Defying Lipstick in Caramel Silk. To finish, I added a slick of No7 High Shine Lipgloss in Honey Bloom to the center."
