About the opportunity
We are looking for an accomplished Design Programme Manager to join our growing UX team at Boots UK. As part of the Digital Transformation team, the UX function drives a strong culture of learning and promoting user-centred design culture that sits at the core of everything we do.
Part of this role will be to lead the programme of design activities in the UX team, working alongside UX leads, product designers, user researchers, product managers, SMEs and partners to help deliver a great user experience for customers and help deliver our long-term strategy.
About the role
Be a leader for building trust with other teams ensure all UX activity is meeting the growing demands of our business functions
Support the design and implementation of robust cross functional processes with other teams (including Product Teams and IT Teams)
Act as the conduit between different design, engineering and business teams ensuring that design intake processes are being followed
Lead planning, resourcing, process, communication and timeline management across projects, keeping aligned with UX Leadership
Create and report on UX Programme Plans and communicate project status to various stakeholders.
Work closely with UX leadership to ensure resourcing and budgets are aligned across difference teams
Schedule design and UX research activity according to the various needs of their respective IT scrum teams
Manage and maintain relevant UX kanban/sprint activity across all retail and healthcare programmes
You will coordinate with other delivery manager peers (including other design teams, BAs, technical product managers and subject-matter experts) to ensure all UX activity falls within scope
Support ongoing development of UX Operations and User Research Operations in the UX team working closely with Design Operations Manager and User Research Manager.
Manage, track and report on Project Risk.
About you
You will have experience in a digital team working in an agile software development environment
Strong digital project delivery or programme background with some good knowledge of the user-centred design (UCD) process
Experience of digital delivery, including some knowledge in the UX discovery process (beneficial)
Understanding of Agile and lean methodologies (beneficial)
Ability to develop strong relationships with stakeholders and peers
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Articulate your ideas well with the ability to tell stories, pitch and influence design rationale in a language appropriate for your audience
Line management experience (beneficial)
